Apoyo lagoon, Natural paradise

Located between Masaya and Granada, the Apoyo Lagoon Natural Reserve is one of Nicaragua’s most beautiful natural wonders. Formed approximately 21,000 years ago, the Apoyo Lagoon is a wonderful 200 meters deep volcanic crater lake and surrounded by tropical forest. It is also one of  the Nicaragua’s 78 protected areas, enclosing a great diversity of colorful birds species and its tropical humid forest shelters also a large variety of plants and tropical dry trees. Visitors can enjoy the dark sand beaches, swimming in the lagoon, kayaking, scuba diving, boating and paragliding. The Apoyo Lagoon Natural Reserve is doubtless a nature-lovers paradise!

Leticia Davila studied Business Administration in English at the University in Granada, and later traveled abroad to complete more intensive studies in Business and English. She began to seriously pursue her passion for teaching the language, culture of traditions of Nicaragua in 2000, and is currently a teacher and the administrator of Spanish Dale! Married with three daughters (Pamela, Ixkra and Nirvana), Leticia enjoys social activities, volleyball and dancing.
